Information about shelters and how they are used
You don't belong to any specific shelter but use the one that is closest. The brochure points to the map of shelters on msb.se, which is now hosted by the Swedish Civil Defence and Resilience Agency. Shelters should have water and simple toilets. If you have time, you should bring something to eat, warm clothes and hygiene items. Be prepared that you may need to stay in the shelter for a few days. In peacetime, shelters may be used for other purposes, but they must be able to be prepared within 48 hours. In case of heightened preparedness, the property owner is responsible for preparation. MCF says shelters are designed for people to be able to stay for at least three days, 0.75 m² is counted per person, and animals may not be taken into the shelter.
